Matt Greenberg is Of Counsel to Ritholz Levy Fields LLP. He practices entertainment, media and intellectual property law and counsels a wide variety of clients in the music (all genres), television, film, online, mobile, book publishing, fashion, professional sports, licensing and modeling industries. 

Matt joined Ritholz Levy Fields in the Spring of 2011. His clients, past and present, include recording artists such as Fergie (Black Eyed Peas), Prince Royce, Wisin & Yandel, Marc Anthony, Red Jumpsuit Apparatus and Alexis J ordan, multi-platinum songwriters and producers such as Toby Gad, Evan Bogart, Lindy Robbins, Jean Baptiste & Free School, Ashley Gorley and Lindsay “Mavelle” Gilbert, film/TV producers, record labels and music publishing companies such as Boardwalk Entertainment (“Platinum Hit”, “Majors & Minors” “Spinning Gold: The Casablanca Records Story” and MTV featured, Epic recording artist, Wallpaper), “Dada” Mills’ The Alliance and Bosshouse Music (production library), athletes such as the Jets’ Darelle Revis, the Yankees’ Jorge Posada (the Jorge Posada Foundation) and heavyweight boxing champ, Chad Dawson, personal managers of top recording artists across the musical spectrum (from Maroon 5 to T. In his 20 years of practice Matt has structured and negotiated a wide array of agreements for his talent and business clients including superstar recording artist re-negotiations, clothing line ventures, music and sports sponsorship agreements (on behalf of both the talent and the sponsors), merchandise licenses (both physical and “digital”) and product endorsement agreements (for products ranging from fragrances to signature guitar slides), television talent, production and exhibition agreements, music recording, “360”, publishing, production and talent management agreements and joint ventures, executive employment agreements, branding, contest and promotion agreements, video game development and production deals and online gaming and software development and licensing agreements. In addition, Matt regularly counsels his clients on non-transactional matters including trademark, copyright and domain name registrations and the protection of his clients’ privacy, reputation and intellectual property.

Matt began practicing law in the late 80s with one of New York City’s premiere trademark and copyright boutique law firms.  Soon after, he joined a prominent New York City entertainment law firm, first as an associate, and later as a partner. There, he represented such clients as Avril Lavigne, Nas, Alicia Keys, Mos Def, Madonna, Island Records, Def Jam Records, Jive Records, Three Doors Down, Ozzy Osbourne, G. Love and Special Sauce, Gov’t Mule, Wynton Marsalis, Shakira and Marc Anthony. 

Matt has been a panelist and moderator at a wide variety of entertainment industry conferences.
